Welcome to Friends of Rickerby Park

A group of enthusiastic volunteers working together with Carlisle City Council to ensure we all enjoy this marvellous open space in the centre of the city

About The Park

Rickerby Park draws the countryside into Carlisle, right next to the city’s heart. Cattle graze its meadowland among the scattered mature oaks, sycamore and lime trees.

Its green open spaces are crossed daily by walkers, joggers and anglers,  people on the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail or people simply walking their dogs. Frequent visitors are orienteers, canoeists, picnickers, football players, school cross country runners, children on educational trips and cyclists as Hadrian’s Cycleway route runs through the park.

Just across the River Eden, bounding the park’s southern edge, rise Carlisle’s civic centre, its shopping mall and streets, its museum and cathedral

Around the park

Our Gallery page is where you will find plenty of images showcasing Rickerby Park throughout the seasons.
